We are pleased to welcome Ming Chen, CFA to our portfolio management team.
Prior to joining AFINA, Ming spent nine years as Consultant & Manager Search Analyst at a boutique investment consulting firm with more than $2.5 billion in assets under advice. He was responsible for institutional investment portfolio construction, asset class and manager search, and performance monitoring and analysis. He was also a subject matter expert in client-specific liability matching strategies, support services and research. Ming is a Chartered Financial Analyst and earned his Honours Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto specializing in Actuarial Science and Economics.
Ming’s actuarial science background and experience with pension advisory will boost AFINA’s efforts to grow our individual pension plan (IPP) offering to clients that own businesses and are looking to secure their retirement following the government’s 2018 tax changes that negatively affected Canadian-controlled private corporations (CCPCs), including incorporated professionals. Ming will also support AFINA’s membership in the Association of Chinese Canadian Entrepreneurs (ACCE).
