The objective of the AFINA Growth & Income Opportunities Fund is to provide long term capital appreciation.

Our strategy is to own a stake in superior companies, while shorting inferior businesses to hedge and limit downside risk. We use fundamental securities selection and strategic trading techniques, including quantitative and technical analysis. We also actively adjust the gross and net position of the Fund to optimize returns.

We purchase long positions in established companies listed on a North American exchange, offering above-average earnings growth, management teams and return on capital. Long positions are also more favourably weighted towards companies that pay cash dividends or distributions.

Our short selling strategy targets companies with:

• Poor to average fundamentals
• Relatively high valuations
• Unrealistic and aggressive earnings expectations
